Troubleshooting¶
Application Server Issues¶
SSIServer does not start¶
In Services check SmartSoft Invoices Server, is it running?
In Services check SmartSoft Licensing Service, is it running?
In Services make sure SQL Server is running
Start the Application Server as a console application and watch for diagnostic messages. The default path is
C:\Program Files (x86)\SmartSoft\SmartSoft Invoices Server\SsiServer.exe
Check user rights in SQL Server: Services -> SmartSoft Invoices Server -> Properties -> Logon set As Local System account or User account. On some systems the server can only start under a local user account (see next bullet to fix that).
If SQL Server uses Windows Authentication make sure the account the server is running under has access to the database (NT_AUTHORITY\SYSTEM or PC_NAME\USER_NAME). Check Security->Logins in SQL Management Studio. SSI Server runs as Local System by default. Add a new login
NT_AUTORITY\System
if it does not exist in SQL server, and provide the necessary roles for that login.roles:
sysadmin

Data Capture Server Issues¶
My PDF contains vector content but it is still OCR processed¶
Here are some common reasons for this:
Make sure you have selected Extract vector PDF data if present at Input
The PDF contains both vector and scanned content
The PDF is restricted by its author. In Adobe Reader click File -> Properties -> Security -> Document Restrictions
