Inserting a new table
To insert a new empty table, click the Table button in
the Insert group on the Home Tab. A new window will
open. Select the number of columns and the number of rows for the
new table. Click OK to insert the table.
Converting existing text to a table
Select the text you want to convert into a table, and click the
Table button. Each new line will be converted into a table
line. Text separated by commas or tabs will be placed in separate
columns.
Text boxes
A text box is a piece of text that can be inserted at a specific
position in a document. Click the Textbox button in the
Insert group on the Home tab. The mouse pointer will
turn into a crosshair. Click in the document and drag to draw a
text box the size that you need. You can then further adjust the
size and position of the text box by dragging the little squares at
the corners of the text box. To write in the text box, click inside
and type.
To adjust the style and the color of the border of a text box,
right-click on the text box and select Format.
