Encrypting a document

You can encrypt a PDF document for security reasons.

To save a PDF file with encryption, click Set Password in the Tools tab. A new window will open. Click Browse to select the PDF file you want to set the password on.

In the Encryption Level drop down box, select the required level of encryption. Select the Require a password to open the document check box, and enter the password.

Click on the Set Password button.

Note: To protect your data against accidental loss, Smart PDF Converter does not allow you to overwrite existing files. It will append “modified” after the file name, or you can also select a totally different file name.
